Central Utah Correctional Facility Releases

Central Utah Correctional Facility is operated by the Utah Department of Corrections. It is not part of the Sanpete County Jail, even though both facilities sit within Sanpete County. Sheriff booking PDFs document county arrest intake and do not confirm release from CUCF. State records control the prison release path. The first sources are the UDC offender search and the person’s order from the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole.

A UDC result marked parolee supports release from prison into community supervision. Parole is conditional release before sentence expiration, not full discharge. An inmate status with a prison or jail placement supports continued custody. A move to another prison or a community correctional center is a transfer or controlled placement. Expiration ends the state sentence shown by UDC and Board records, though a separate case or authority may still require its own check.

Search Central Utah Correctional Facility Status

The official UDC offender search covers people who are currently under UDC supervision. That scope includes prisoners and may include parolees and probationers. It is not a complete public archive after all state supervision has ended. A missing result can reflect spelling, identifier error, no UDC jurisdiction, or completed supervision. It cannot supply a release date by itself.

1. Open the UDC Offender Search and follow its current search link.
2. Use the offender number when known. Otherwise enter the full name and resolve similar names with date of birth and the state identifier.
3. Read Legal Status before drawing a conclusion. Distinguish inmate, parolee, and probationer.
4. Check the current corrections placement. CUCF or another prison supports custody, while a changed location can mark a transfer.
5. Keep Board Hearing Date separate from Parole/Expiration Date. Neither field alone proves the actual departure.
6. Open the Board decision and check for a later rehearing or rescission. Then use AP&P if the person is under community supervision.

UDC’s public field inventory gives several points for a careful match. The person’s number and date of birth help resolve identity. Legal Status answers whether UDC classifies the person as an inmate, parolee, or probationer. Current placement shows the corrections site. The Board date and Parole/Expiration Date serve different purposes and must keep their official meanings.

Confirm Central Utah Facility Release Orders

Utah uses indeterminate sentencing for many state cases. A court imposes a statutory range, while the Board acts within its authority to decide parole timing. The Board hearing and decision search accepts a person’s name or offender number. Search the recent decision, open the actual order, and note its date and exact result. A scheduled hearing is not a release order.

Later Board action matters. A rehearing can set another review point. A rescission proceeding may remove a date that had been granted before departure. Paper review and other Board processes also should not be relabeled as release. Once UDC shows parolee, Adult Probation and Parole handles field supervision. AP&P can route a current supervision question, while the Board order remains the source for imposed parole terms and dates.

Central Utah Facility Release Contacts

Use CUCF for a facility question and UDC for the state record. The prison can direct a caller on facility operations, but a full release history may require the UDC records process. After full expiration, the public offender search may no longer return the person because its stated scope is current supervision. A historical request should include the offender number and seek legal status, release or expiration date, Board order, and state custody history.

Office assignments can change, so use the current AP&P map instead of relying on an old field-office address. Where Central Utah Releases Are Processed

CUCF’s Gunnison address is not normally the place where family members meet a person for state release. UDC says releases and paroles are processed each Tuesday, and most CUCF clients report to the Utah State Correctional Facility Release Building at 1480 North 8000 West in Salt Lake City. Families of USCF and CUCF clients are told to arrive at 9 a.m. Processing can take one to four hours. These are UDC procedures, not Sanpete County Jail rules.

A person bound for a community correctional center is transported by UDC. That destination remains corrections-controlled placement rather than full discharge. When a community release has no ride, UDC may provide transport to a nearby UTA TRAX stop on a case-by-case basis, and those clients are released last. Families should follow current UDC instructions because the processing sequence and pickup point belong to the state system.

Central Utah Facility Release Geography

CUCF opened in 1989 as a UDC men’s prison. It can hold up to 1,800 men across the Henry, Boulder, and Monroe facilities. Sanpete County also contains a separate county complex in Manti, and that jail can hold some UDC placements. These overlapping sites create a physical map that differs from the legal custody map. The agency controlling the person matters more than the county boundary.

This facility information belongs to UDC. Sanpete Sheriff booking reports do not track CUCF discharge or parole events.

Which Sanpete Release Address Is Current

A CUCF or UDC record request should follow the state corrections route, not the Sheriff’s county form. Still, some searches begin with an earlier Sanpete County arrest documented by the Jail Division. In that limited case, the county departure entry may help show the handoff into UDC. The Sheriff’s older Record Release Form lists 1500 South Highway 89, while the current Sheriff page lists 1130 South Service Berry Road. Both identify PO Box 130 and 435-835-2191.

Use the current Sheriff page or the mailing address, and call before hand delivery. Do not send a CUCF prison-record request there merely because the state prison is in Sanpete County. The county office owns a county booking or transfer entry. UDC owns state custody history. The Board owns its release decisions. Correct routing avoids an incomplete answer from an office that never created the requested state record.

Central Utah Facility Release Dates

Parole/Expiration Date is UDC’s exact public date concept, but its two parts have different meanings. Parole begins supervised release before expiration. Expiration ends the state sentence. Board Hearing Date is a process date and must not be presented as either one. Utah’s sentence structure, Board authority, time already served, earned-time awards, later cases, conduct, and release-plan approval can affect the path to an implemented date.

Utah Code Section 77-27-5.4 governs the state earned-time program. It can provide program-based time reductions within statutory rules, exclusions, and possible forfeiture. CUCF’s HOPE program appears on UDC’s approved Gunnison list. Utah does not have a verified general rule that every state prisoner serves 85 percent. A precise CUCF date comes from the state calculation and Board action, not a universal percentage.

A future date can change after a rehearing, rescission, new case, disciplinary event, sentence correction, or release-plan problem. Recheck the Board order and UDC status near the expected day. After release, a parolee result supports supervised community status. After full expiration, request the state history if the current-supervision search no longer returns the record.
